April Update: Bragg Stadium's West side renovation is well underway with the demolition completed. Allstate Construction toured members of the FAMU Staff and administration, Blueprint Intergovernmental Agency, and the Office of Economic Vitality around the current West side renovation of Bragg Memorial Stadium.

At its current state, Bragg West has been stripped of all bleacher pans. Allstate and its contractors will begin conditioning the metal beams that will support the stands, which includes the preservation coating identical to what was used on the Bragg East side renovation. The black coating has over a 50-year life and will position the stadium to withstand climate conditions for decades. The beams that hoist the bleachers are being fitted with new mounts to hold the new aluminum bleachers. The aluminum bleacher are much lighter (and louder) than the original steel bleachers, allowing for less weight taxation on the support beams.

A new press box with a president's box, home athletics director box and visiting athletics director box will be added to replace the aging predecessor. The new skybox will also have the infrastructure to accommodate all the media elements needed to ensure a solid multimedia experience on game day.

The full removal of the former press box is complete. Progress toward complete demolition of the remainder of the seating pans on the West side continue.

Allstate Construction Inc. has begun operations to renovate the west side of Bragg Memorial Stadium. Following suit to the construction process on the east side, demolition will begin as the first step to the process.

Bragg Stadium, the site of Covid-19 testing of over 300,000 individuals during the height of the pandemic, is no longer hosting that function on site. That operation has been moved to an open area on Wahnish Way, near FAMU DRS. Security fencing for the west side renovations is going up as access to the area will be limited to construction vendors.

The preparation for demolition and securing the site is underway, with stripping the bleachers of all electrical, plumbing and lighting fixtures beginning immediately.

Completion of the project, which will include a new press box and luxury suites is expected to be completed by Aug. 31, as the Rattlers will host their first home game on Sept. 10 in Bragg Stadium.
